Problem Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2024-2025 Viking and Clipper travel trailers. The side marker lights may not reflect light as intended, which can make it difficult for other drivers to see the trailer. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Risk Insufficiently reflective side marker lights can reduce the trailer's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will install reflector stickers to the lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2024. Owners may call Forest River Customer Service at 269-467-6604. Forest River's number for this recall is 121-1845.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 121-1845 is the number Forest River assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V722000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
