Problem Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2016 Rockwood RLT2604WS, WRLT2604WS, Flagstaff FLT26RLWS and WFLT26RLWS recreational trailers. Due to insufficient clearance between the front tire and slide out actuator, the tire may contact the slide out bracket and become damaged. Risk If the front tire becomes damaged, it may fail and cause a loss control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a lift kit that will provide the proper clearance between the tire and the slide out bracket. Damaged tires will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began May 11, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-8943. Forest River's number for this recall is 10D-1159.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 10D-1159 is the number Forest River assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 20V221000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
