Problem Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2017 Rockwood and Flagstaff trailers manufactured July 8, 2016, to July 11, 2016. The affected vehicles are equipped with a Federal Placard that incorrectly indicates that the ST225/75R15D tires have a recommended pressure of 50 PSI. These tires should be maintained at 65PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Risk If the tires are run at a low pressure, they may overheat and fail, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will provide a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-2640. Forest River's number for this recall is 10-07192016-0230.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 10-07192016-0230 is the number Forest River assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 16V549000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
