Problem Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Panigale V2 motorcycles. The dashboard could automatically switch from low beam headlights to the headlight daylight position lamp (DRL), in automatic setting mode. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Risk Lights that automatically switch from low beams to the daylight position can reduce visibility during night riding, increasing the risk of crash or injury. Fix Dealers will update the dashboard software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2023. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-23-003.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. SRV-RCL-23-003 is the number Ducati assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 23V377000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
