Problem Dennis Eagle, Inc. (Dennis Eagle) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Elite and Proview vehicles. The instrument cluster warning light may falsely indicate that an exterior vehicle light is not illuminated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 125, "Warning Devices." Risk The false warning light could prevent the detection of an actual light failure, reducing visibility to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 31, 2021. Owners may contact Dennis Eagle customer service at 1-813-440-8136. Dennis Eagle's number for this recall is FSI1472.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. FSI1472 is the number Dennis Eagle assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 21V941000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
