Problem Cruiser RV (Cruiser) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Boss recreational trailers. The affected vehicles have a vertically-mounted furnace installed such that the exhaust ports may be at the top of the furnace instead of at the bottom. Risk If the ports are located in the wrong area it can cause restriction in the chamber, making the furnace operation unsafe, increasing the risk of injury. Fix Cruiser will notify owners, and dealers will reinstall the furnace so that the exhaust port is at the bottom, free of charge. The recall began on March 8, 2017. Owners may contact Cruiser customer service at 1-866-277-5630. Cruiser's number for this recall is 98.03.12.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 98.03.12 is the number Cruiser RV assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 17V074000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
