Problem Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Coachmen Viking recreational trailers, models T17BHS and T17FQS. The Federal Placard states that the tires have an inflation pressure of 65 PSI, when the tires actually require 75 PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Risk The incorrect Placard could cause the operator to underinflate the tires, possibly causing tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Forest River has notified owners and provided a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began May 31, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-269-467-8281. Forest River's number for this recall is 121-0734.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 121-0734 is the number Coachmen assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 18V334000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
