Problem Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The hazard warning lights may not function independent of the ignition switch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Risk Warning lights that do not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the OFF position can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2402.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. DC-2402 is the number Autocar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V262000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Is DC-2402 the same recall as 24V262000?

Yes. DC-2402 is Autocar’s own number for it; 24V262000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does DC-2402 cover?

2020–2024 Autocar Legend, 398 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.
