Problem Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020 Legend vehicles. The headlight and windshield wiper wiring harness may become disconnected during operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment", and 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems." Risk A disconnected headlight and windshield wiper wiring harness can cause a sudden loss of headlight and windshield wiper function, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Fix Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wiring harness routing, and repair or replace it as necessary, free of charge. Autocar issued owners an interim notification letter on May 6, 2021. The remedy is expected to be available February 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2022. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2103.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. DC-2103 is the number Autocar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 21V150000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Is DC-2103 the same recall as 21V150000?
