Problem Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Xpeditor vehicles. These vehicles may have a seat belt harness routing located too close to the seat mechanism. If the harness chafes and short circuits, the circuit protection fuse will open, and the engine will shut off and not restart. Risk The vehicle may stall and not restart, without warning, increasing the risk of a crash, personal injury or property damage. Fix Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will route and secure the seatbelt wiring clear of the seat mechanism, free of charge. The recall began on March 25, 2021. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486. Autocar's number for this recall is ACX-2101.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. ACX-2101 is the number Autocar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 21V030000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
