Problem Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Xpeditor trucks with a right-hand drive cab configuration equipped with a park brake valve (button) located to the right of the steering wheel. The parking brake synchronization valve plumbing may be improperly assembled, causing the parking brake to apply unexpectedly without warning. Risk Unexpected parking brake application can increase the risk of a crash. Fix Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will correct the plumbing to allow the system to operate as designed. The recall began September 28, 2020. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3488. Autocar's number for this recall is ACX-2004.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. ACX-2004 is the number Autocar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 20V450000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Which vehicles does ACX-2004 cover?

2018–2021 Autocar Xpeditor, 1,086 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.
