Problem Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Xpeditor vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with undersized brake chambers, possibly allowing the truck to roll when parked. As a result, the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air brake systems." Risk Unexpected movement when parked can increase the risk of crash. Fix Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake chambers with ones of the proper size, free of charge. The recall began April 16, 2019. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486. Autocar's number for this recall is ACX-1903.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. ACX-1903 is the number Autocar assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V091000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
