Problem Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024 FOSV-CA vehicles. The interconnect battery cable routed between the chassis battery and the auxiliary batteries may overheat. Risk An overheated battery cable increases the risk of a fire. Fix Dealers will reroute the interconnect connections to the fused terminal, replace the interconnect battery cables with higher-gauge cables, and inspect and replace the solenoid as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 21, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is MAB-3258.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. MAB-3258 is the number Altec assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V661000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
