Problem Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2017-2018 LR7, TA50/55/60 and L42/45 Aerial Devices. Multiple fasteners used to secure the rotation bearing may break, possibly resulting in the pedestal separating from the turntable. Risk If the pedestal separates from the turntable, it can increase the risk of injury or death. Fix Altec will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected fasteners, free of charge. The recall began July 31, 2019. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 722.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. CSN 722 is the number Altec assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 19V455000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
