Problem Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025 AC Series Crane and DT Series Digger Derrick vehicles. The harness intended to prevent Altec installed lighting from overloading the chassis lighting circuit was not installed, which may result in a loss of power to the body lighting or trailer lights. Risk Loss of body lighting or trailer lights increases the risk of a crash. Fix Altec will notify owners to inspect their vehicle for the harness. If the harness is missing, a repair kit will be provided, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3295.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. CSN-3295 is the number Altec assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 26V170000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
