Problem Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2025 AP Series vehicles. The brake air line compression fitting may not be tightened correctly, which can allow the supply line or other air lines to detach and cause the chassis emergency brakes to engage. Risk Unexpected activation of the emergency brakes may cause the vehicle to stop suddenly, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the brake air lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to secure the lines. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 3, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3242.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. CSN-3242 is the number Altec assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V509000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.
