Problem Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles that were previously remedied under NHTSA recall number 24V-512. The tire size information on the tire placard is incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Risk Incorrect tire information can result in installing the incorrect-size tires, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix FCA will mail corrected tire placard labels. Owners may bring the label into a dealer for free installation. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is C3B. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 24V-512 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. C3B is the number Alfa Romeo assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 24V857000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR Part 573

Is C3B the same recall as 24V857000?

Yes. C3B is Alfa Romeo’s own number for it; 24V857000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does C3B cover?

2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, 204 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.

Does the C3B repair cost anything?

No. The manufacturer must remedy a safety defect at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from first sale.
