Problem Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet vehicles. The display module may not show the rearview camera image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility." Risk A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix Dealers will update the software or replace the display as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 13, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are 13C and 38C.

Two numbers, one recall

Every safety recall carries two identifiers. 13C, 38C is the number Alfa Romeo assigned in its own system: it is what appears on the owner letter, on the dealer’s service screen and on the repair order. 25V246000 is the number NHTSA filed the same recall under when the manufacturer reported it, and it is the one every federal record, this site included, is keyed on.

The repair is free by federal law for vehicles up to fifteen years old. Whether one particular vehicle is included is settled by its VIN against the manufacturer’s build list, not by its model year.

Check one specific vehicle

Both lookups check a VIN against the manufacturer’s own list and say whether the repair is still outstanding on that vehicle.

Common questions

Is 13C, 38C the same recall as 25V246000?

Yes. 13C, 38C is Alfa Romeo’s own number for it; 25V246000 is NHTSA’s. One recall, two references.

Which vehicles does 13C, 38C cover?

2023–2025 Alfa Romeo and Dodge, 48,527 vehicles by the manufacturer’s count. A recall covers a build range, so the VIN decides whether one particular vehicle is in it.
