In some cases, this opposite rotation is detected as a fault due to overly sensitive component monitoring. The rider receives a corresponding warning message in the instrument cluster; the engaged gear remains engaged. The vehicle goes into a safe driving mode as designed (continue driving at idle speed only). Following turning the motorcycle of and back on again, the fault is reset, and the automated shift assistant function is available again.
