BMW service campaign 00 11 51 00 00

What it saysDuring the production of the intake camshaft there was a change in the coolant used to prevent localized overheating of parts of the camshaft. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

BMW filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Apr 22, 2025, received Apr 29, 2025, about the power train — 1 document under this number: MC110322. It names 1 model year (2025). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

During the production of the intake camshaft there was a change in the coolant used to prevent localized overheating of parts of the camshaft. Because of this, certain parts of the camshaft may have a changed surface hardness that can result in increased wear of the rocker arms and camshaft over time.

Read by machine from the document NHTSA serves (5 pages), read Sep 30, 2026. A part number is shown only where it matches BMW’s own catalogue shape, an operation only with its code and time, and a description only where the reader got it whole; anything it could not settle is left out, and the PDF is the record. Times are the manufacturer’s warranty allowances, not a quote.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Also filed against: 2025 BMW S 1000 RR.

None of these model years has a page on this site (it covers EPA-certified cars, trucks and SUVs from 2016), so the bulletin is listed here on its own.

Which vehicles does 00 11 51 00 00 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 1 model year: 2025 BMW S 1000 RR. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
