The key fob is designed to have an operational working range of up to a maximum of 40 metres away from the vehicle, however on specific vehicles it fails to do so and can only operate up to a range of 5 metres. The reason for this is due to the central locking antenna short circuiting to ground. This is due to a defective Body Control Module (BCM) (Part 99207064 FK) which is missing component R15.
