Audi bulletin A9724042063269_2

What it saysThis bulletin provides information when the parking aid is not working, DTCs B10FA14, B10FA31, B10F804, B10F814, U10FC00 or B15EC14. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Audi filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Jan 18, 2024, received Feb 6, 2024, about the electrical system. It names 3 model years (2019–2021). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 3 model years this bulletin names have filed 91 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 28 of them name Electrical System — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

My 2021 Audi Q3 SUV had been very dangerous to drive stalling, stopping on the highway and shuttering for about two weeks. While I was going about 70 miles an hour my vehicle stalled. It lead to me almost being killed and rear ended. My vehicle had been displaying a stop start malfunction code and check engine light.

2021 Audi Q3 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Feb 14, 2025 · ODI 11642776

The start stop feature needs to be deactivated otherwise the wheel locks up once stopped and vehicle does not move forward once foot releases off brake. The vehicle shuttered and RPM dial lit up and engine was revving once start stop was deactivated. Car had to be pulled over and shut off. Started again to move.

2020 Audi Q3 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Nov 18, 2020 · ODI 11375280

While on the road, on the first month of driving the car august/september 2019, the car slowed down to 2-5 MPH with a note on the dash screen to call service. I crawled the car to the side of the road. Gas pedal and breaks not working, pulling the emergency park button to stop the car.

2019 Audi Q3 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Nov 23, 2020 · ODI 11375993

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Audi A9724042063269_2 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the A9724042063269_2 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does A9724042063269_2 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 3 model years: 2021 Audi Q3, 2020 Audi Q3, 2019 Audi Q3. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
