The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

What owners reported

Source: NHTSA complaint database

Owners of the 29 model years this bulletin names have filed 169 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 51 of them name Electrical System, Suspension — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

My 2023 Audi SQ5 Sportback's key fob stopped working, and when I took it into the Audi dealership they said that it is a known issue that if you don't unclog the drain (not sure where that is - was never told I needed to do so) then there can be leaks that affect the wiring and the Comfort Control Module, rendering the vehicle unusable.

2023 Audi SQ5 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jul 9, 2025 · ODI 11672326

Vehicle malfunctioned and stopped in middle of highway with no warning. It forcefully braked to shutdown. Was able to restart car and drive away after a minute. Two days later it had emergency SOS warning on dashboard. Took vehicle in for diagnostic and repair. When pushing software update the module locked up and car would not start.

2023 Audi e-tron · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jul 30, 2024 · ODI 11605340

Our electrical system is going craze. The electronic door handles will lock us in and out of the car, the instrument cluster will black out for periods, safety sensors go off at random, other screens in car will black out leaving controls in operable, and wireless car charger will heat the phone so hot that we have been burnt.

2024 Audi SQ8 · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Mar 21, 2026 · ODI 11726024

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.
