Acura bulletin BTI&03212024901

What it saysDealer Message - American Honda Motor Co., Inc. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Acura filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Mar 21, 2024, received Mar 26, 2024, about the electrical system. It names 3 model years (2022–2024). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

The contact owns a 2023 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, on a rough road, the "Brake" warning light illuminated, then several warning lights illuminated. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal.

2023 Acura MDX · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jun 24, 2025 · ODI 11668974

All electrical systems failed while driving around 30mph, Power steering failed, power brakes failed, lane assist failed. We were at high risk of a crash due to lack of control of the car while driving. We were lucky that it happened on a flat road and we were able to manually pull over to the side of the road.

2022 Acura MDX · Electrical System · filed with NHTSA Jan 24, 2023 · ODI 11503425

Monday, June 30th, 2025, while driving on highway trip out of state, the vehicle made severe explosion noise, and sounded like I was dragging something metal under the vehicle for approx 30 seconds. After slowing the vehicle, I confirmed there was nothing under the car and the car seemed to be driving fine.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Acura BTI&03212024901 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the BTI&03212024901 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way. Every Honda warranty extension on file lists the ones Honda has filed.

Which vehicles does BTI&03212024901 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 3 model years: 2024 Acura MDX, 2023 Acura MDX, 2022 Acura MDX. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
