What it saysThis bulletin provides informaiton when there is a red coolant temparature/coolant level warning lamp; 4.0 ltr. NHTSA’s full summary ↓

Audi filed this with NHTSA as a service bulletin dated Apr 14, 2026, received May 5, 2026, about the engine. It names 31 model years (2019–2025). A service bulletin is not a safety recall: it is the manufacturer telling its dealers how to diagnose or repair a condition, and whether the work is paid for depends on the warranty in force. Quoting the number at a service desk can save a diagnosis.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. A PDF link is shown only once NHTSA’s own server has been seen to serve that document; the rest are checked over the following nights. Quote the number at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

Owners of the 31 model years this bulletin names have filed 73 complaints with NHTSA since 2015. 20 of them name Engine — the same broad component group this bulletin is filed under. NHTSA groups complaints coarsely, so that means the same area of the vehicle, not necessarily the same fault.

My Audi RS6 has experienced a failure involving the engine cooling system/water pump that requires repair. This appears to be a recurring issue among C8 RS6 owners. Other owners have reported water-pump failures, coolant loss, overheating, drivetrain malfunction warnings, turbo underboost faults, and vehicles entering reduced-power or…

2024 Audi RS · Engine · filed with NHTSA Sep 22, 2026

We are told by Audi dealer service that our entire water pump system is defective and needs to be replaced at a cost of $5000+. We've had Audis subject to past recall and class action settlements. This is an ongoing, known issue for Audi for over a decade. Frustratingly, our 2020 SQ7 model is not included in any current recalls.

2020 Audi SQ7 · Engine · filed with NHTSA Jul 25, 2025

Excessive Engine Oil Consumption. Audi Corp is attempting to rebuild the engine vs replacement leading to increased customer risk and downtime. My SQ8 has been in the shop for 250 days due to serval rebuild attempts with the dealer requesting a new engine and Audi denying forcing the rebuild even after several failed attempts.

2022 Audi SQ8 · Engine · filed with NHTSA Feb 10, 2026

A complaint is one owner’s account, not a defect finding, and a bulletin is not a recall. Nothing here says this bulletin was issued because of these complaints, or that the repair it describes fixed them. Complaint files on this site begin in 2015.

Common questions

Source: NHTSA, 49 CFR 579.5

Is Audi TSB_2074303_11 a recall?

No. A service bulletin is a manufacturer communication filed with NHTSA under 49 CFR 579.5; a safety recall carries an NHTSA campaign number (two digits, a letter, six digits) and a federal duty to repair for free. Check the vehicle’s recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or on its page here.

Is the TSB_2074303_11 repair free?

Not automatically. A service bulletin describes how to diagnose or repair a condition; who pays depends on the warranty in force, any extension, and the dealer. Quoting the number can save a diagnosis either way.

Which vehicles does TSB_2074303_11 cover?

The manufacturer filed it against 31 model years: 2021 Audi A8, 2020 Audi A8, 2019 Audi A8, 2025 Audi RS, 2024 Audi RS, 2023 Audi RS and more. Whether one particular vehicle is affected is a matter of its VIN and its build, not its model year alone.
