Mercedes-Maybach service campaign NCU - 2026060005
Mercedes-Maybach filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Jul 10, 2026, received Jul 27, 2026, about the power train — 2 documents under this number. It names 2 model years (2026). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationIssue The transmission control unit (VGS) in the automatic transmission does not comply with our currently valid specifications in the vehicles of the above-mentioned model series delivered to you. It is possible that the polarities of the magnets in the transmission control unit (VGS) have been swapped. This could in turn result in shift quality issues and gear lockouts. Remedy MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. We therefore request that you replace the electrohydraulic controller unit (EHS) of the automatic transmission in the affected vehicles. Please refer to the attached work description for details on the operations required.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.
Model years it names

None of these model years has a page on this site (it covers EPA-certified cars, trucks and SUVs from 2016), so the bulletin is listed here on its own.
