Mercedes-Maybach service campaign NCU - 2025050005

Mercedes-Maybach filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated May 23, 2025, received May 28, 2025, about the electrical system. It names 1 model year (2025). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain subject vehicles, the software for the "Digital Vehicle Key" control unit does not correspond to the current series production configuration. Consequently, the control unit may not enter Sleep Mode. A software update will be provided to improve battery management by releasing the vehicle network when not needed. The update also includes general enhancements to operational stability and device compatibility for the “Digital Vehicle Key system. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the software for the "Digital Vehicle Key" control unit.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.

None of these model years has a page on this site (it covers EPA-certified cars, trucks and SUVs from 2016), so the bulletin is listed here on its own.
