Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationMercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (“MY�) 2018 S-Class (217 & 222 platforms) vehicles, an incorrect software was inadvertently updated on the drivetrain control unit during a workshop visit. Due to incorrect software, the vehicles may not meet emission or OBD certification requirements, therefore potential influence on the exhaust emissions cannot be ruled out. MBUSA will conduct an Emission Service Campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the drivetrain control unit software on the affected vehicles. Affected customers will be notified via First Class letter to have the update performed on their vehicle.
