Mercedes-Maybach service campaign NCU - 2024110005
Mercedes-Maybach filed this with NHTSA as a service campaign dated Dec 20, 2024, received Jan 2, 2025, about the electrical system. It names 5 model years (2021–2023). A service campaign is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.
What the bulletin says
Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communicationMercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2021-2023 S-Class (223 platform) vehicles, the lens hood of the multifunction camera may not correspond to current production specifications. The polarity of the wires in the connector housing for the lens hood may be switched. As a consequence, the multifunction camera view may be reduced and a “camera view restricted message may be present in the instrument cluster. The rear-view camera is not affected. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the wiring of the lens hood and replace the lens hood of the multifunction camera if necessary.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.
