Mercedes-Maybach bulletin NCU - 2024100016

Mercedes-Maybach filed this with NHTSA as a emissions communication dated Feb 28, 2026, received Feb 27, 2026, about the electrical system. It names 5 model years (2019–2021). A emissions communication is not a safety recall — there is no NHTSA campaign number and no federal requirement — but it is usually work the manufacturer pays for on the vehicles it names; the dealer checks the VIN against the manufacturer’s list.

What the bulletin says

Source: NHTSA's summary of the manufacturer's communication

Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz, has determined that on certain MY 2019-2021 G-Class, S-Class and GT (463, 222 & 190 platforms) vehicles, the engine control unit software does not correspond to current production specifications. It is therefore possible that onboard diagnostics and/or exhaust gas emissions requirements may not be fulfilled. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will perform the ECU software update.

The summary is NHTSA’s abstract of the document, as filed under 49 CFR 579.5; the full text comes from the manufacturer or a dealer. One communication is usually filed as several documents — the bulletin, a dealer notice, an owner letter — and the number on any of them finds this page. Quote it at a service desk; it is what the dealer’s system is keyed on.
